Nashville communications firms DVL Public Relations & Advertising and Seigenthaler Public Relations, Inc., have been purchased by global agency Finn Partners.

Finn Partners’ acquisition marks the entry of the New York firm, one of the fastest-growing independent firms in the U.S., into the Nashville market.

The combined company will be led by DVL CEO Ronald Roberts and Seigenthaler Public Relations CEO Beth Seigenthaler Courtney, who will serve as CEO and President of DVL Seigenthaler, respectively.

Together, the two firms will have annual fees of approximately $11 million, according to a release from the new firm, which has a combined 80 employees in Nashville.

Finn Partners has offices in Chicago, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Jerusalem, London, Los Angeles, Munich, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. DVL Seigenthaler will be headquartered in The Gulch.

In addition to Roberts and Courtney, the new agency’s managing partners will include DVL partners Jimmy Chaffin and Nelson Eddy, and Seigenthaler Public Relations partners Amy Seigenthaler Pierce and Katie Seigenthaler.

DVL was founded in 1980 by Hank Dye, John Van Mol and Tom Lawrence. Longstanding clients of DVL are: Brown-Forman (Jack Daniel’s), The J.M. Smucker Company (Martha White/White Lily), AMSURG, Nashville Electric Service, Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, and Bridgestone Americas, Inc.

Seigenthaler PR was established in 1972 by the late Thomas P. Seigenthaler. The firm provides services to Airbus DS Communications, Electronic Recyclers International, LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, Natural Resources Defense Council, Regions Financial Corp., and Singer Sewing Company.

Including the acquisition of DVL and Seigenthaler, the Finn has approximately $65 million in fee billings and ranks in the top ten among independent firms in the United States.
