The Tennessean to sell longtime Nashville offices

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessean is putting its longtime offices in downtown Nashville up for sale.

The newspaper reports (http://tnne.ws/2bODpVH) that no price has been named for the 10-acre property that is located in the Gulch neighborhood of the city.

Laura Hollingsworth, president of The Tennessean and USA Today Network -Tennessee, says the Gannett-owned newspaper plans to move news, business and sales operations to a new space in Nashville that has yet to be identified.

The company will seek a sale-lease arrangement to allow the paper to remain on the property for up to 18 months after the closing date.

The building was the joint home of The Tennessean and the Nashville Banner until the afternoon paper folded in 1998. The Associated Press and United Press International also had offices in the building.
